A beer kit such as the Bulldog Brews Bad Cat Imperial Red is a new concept on the home brew market. It hasn't been possible in the past to produce such an extreme beer kit. Due to the recent improvements in dry beer yeasts, it is now possible (but very expensive) to ferment 4.7 kgs of malt extract in a kit, something most standard beer yeast can not handle. The result is stunning. The Bad Cat will take you where no cat or dog has been before. One of the best home brew beer kits.

Great Beer

This is only the second beer that I've made from extract and I've just racked it measuring an abv of 8.8%. I added the hops at around 5 days in and the beer tastes not too hoppy and maybe just a little sweet. Going to leave it to condition in the keg at about 22C for a few days and then for a couple of weeks at ambient garage temperature. Looking very promising. Kit arrived as described but beware needs priming sugar. (Jan 30 2017, 15:51 PM)

Very Drinkable

This kit produces a beer that is reminiscent of carlsberg special brew but arguably more drinkable. a really strong but delicious beer. Follow the instructions, put the hops in 2 to 3 days before bottling and enjoy . (Jan 30 2017, 15:50 PM)

Not a bad cat

This is a great ale. It needs more than three weeks to carbonate and condition. If you can wait, it will reward you with a sensational moderate ruby. It is well worth the money as you will need to drink it like a very strong export ale or a light wine. Easy to make and addictively good. (Jan 30 2017, 15:48 PM)

This cat has serious claws. I'm a big fan of the other bulldog brew beers so I gave this one a try. As with the others it takes quite a while to ferment out fully, due to its strength, most likely. It's a great tasting beer and you would never guess the strength......until you've had a couple and then it's too late! Lovely stuff but not a session beer. (Oct 28 2016, 14:06 PM)

Bang On

Bought this and brewed it under volume thinking it can't come out that strong right?? Well north of 9% and if left a few months tastes great, although one or two bottles is normally enough at the end of a night. Beware this is a serious kit for serious drinkers (Oct 28 2016, 14:06 PM)
