An early ripening and productive grape that originated in France and which is now grown widely in many areas including California and Northern Italy. The grape produces a rich fruity non-astringent wine that, because of its softness, is often blended with many of the world's finest Cabernet Sauvignons such as Bordeaux. Characteristics: Firm to soft and slightly fruity. Appropriate Foods: Light red meats and game such as duck.

Believe you me; if you're paying 5 or 6 quid for Merlot at Tescos then STOP! Make Beverdale Merlot and for about £1.30 a bottle, you'll be drinking a much better, quality wine. NO DOUBT. Best thing I ever did, was to start wine making using Beverdale kits. ABSOLUTLEY BRILLIANT!Ian Lewis (23 Jun 2017, 19:30)
