An early ripening and productive grape that originated in France and which is now grown widely in many areas including California and Northern Italy. The grape produces a rich fruity non-astringent wine that, because of its softness, is often blended with many of the world's finest Cabernet Sauvignons such as Bordeaux. Characteristics: Firm to soft and slightly fruity. Appropriate Foods: Light red meats and game such as duck.

Believe you me; if you're paying 5 or 6 quid for Merlot at Tescos then STOP! Make Beverdale Merlot and for about £1.30 a bottle, you'll be drinking a much better, quality wine. NO DOUBT. Best thing I ever did, was to start wine making using Beverdale kits. ABSOLUTLEY BRILLIANT!Ian Lewis (23 Jun 2017, 19:30)
I have made this kit twice and the results have been excellent. An enjoyable wine that I have given to friends who have all enjoyed and informed equal taste and quality to a shop bought wine.Samara Carr (16 Sep 2014, 15:45)

I brew a lot of this, and can certainly recommend it. One word of advice though, leave the packet of oak chippings out of the equation. They cause the resulting wine to have a coarse flavour, but without it you will produce a very smooth tasty red wine.Ken (3 Nov 2011, 06:24)
Hi,
We have used this company for quite a few years now and we are very happy with their products and very efficient delivery too.Denise Albiston (2 Aug 2023, 09:13)
Really pleased with this wine. No way would you think it was home-made. Well up in the £8 to £10 a bottle quality for less than a quarter of that. Trying the Shiraz (Wine Expert) next, but it was a tough decision as I was very tempted to stick with the Merlot. Will report back on the Shiraz in due course.Allan Postgate (30 Dec 2024, 12:51)

I bought two wine kits and one did not have all the necessary parts, only the grape concentrate. I needed to get this started before we went on holiday, Sam chased it up immediately with the suppliers and I received the missing bits in time to start it before we went away. As always, first class service!!Alan Gaffiney (29 Aug 2024, 14:21)
When into store backend of lockdown looking to upgrade my air still to the T500 wanted advice before taking the plunge. Both the guys on the counter was so helpful and went through everything that I needed. This store is about 30 miles away from me and I have to pass at least 2 other shops but it’s worth the hour trip each way. Keep up the service making your customers feel valued 10/10Shaun Murphy (16 May 2021, 18:22)
I live a long distance away but was staying with relatives for the weekend. Decided to visit the shop and so glad I did. They have everything that a home brewer could possibly need. You are free to browse and select what you need. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. I wish I lived closer, but will definitely pop In again when I am able.Phil (29 Aug 2023, 08:49)
