T500 Boiler Alembic Copper Dome And Alembic Copper Condensor

T500 Boiler Alembic Copper Dome And Alembic Copper Condensor

£445.00
T502Q4TD82

This Alembic Pot Still is made up of the T500 Boiler with a Pot Still Alembic Dome Top and Pot Still Alembic Condenser.

These additions transform the T500 into an Alembic Pot Still. Instead of stripping flavours to give clean spirit like the T500, this pot still retains and enhances flavours. This can be used when distilling washes that contain flavours that you wish to collect.

The Pot Still Alembic Condenser is best used with the T500 Boiler and the Pot Still Alembic Dome Top. You can use this with the T500 Boiler without the Pot Still Alembic Dome Top, to do this it fits on to the lid of the T500 Boiler. This condenser is what differentiates this still from the T500. It is what retains the flavour rather than stripping it out by refluxing. This comes with a thermometer, tubing and tap adaptor set.

The Pot Still Alembic Dome Top is copper and fits on to the T500 Boiler. The large copper surafce area of this dome top acts as a catalyst with the vapour in the still and helps enhance and concentrate the flavours and aromas as well as remove unwanted sulphur compounds. This produces a smoother, richer, sweeter tasting spirit.

Note:

The Alembic shouldn’t be used with the Water Flow Regulator. Even when it’s at full blast, it produces around 2.4L/min. Sometimes when distilling you need a higher flow rate, so the water should come straight from the tap and not the Water Regulator.

Unlike the T500, the Alembic is more forgiving to a fluctuation in temperature. If you connect the tubing straight to the tap, you shouldn’t have any issues.

Worth moving up a notch?

I used to buy from the On The House (£43) range and was always very happy with them and made dozens of 30 bottle kits up. Until, that is, there was an offer on WineXpert kits at the same price rather than the normal £53. So I had nothing to lose in trying the more expensive kit. I found it was definitely worth the extra tenner (more grape juice giving more depth of flavour). So I now stick with WineXpert even at the higher price. It's still less than £2 a bottle. Amazing service

I bought two wine kits and one did not have all the necessary parts, only the grape concentrate. I needed to get this started before we went on holiday, Sam chased it up immediately with the suppliers and I received the missing bits in time to start it before we went away. As always, first class service!! (29 Aug 2024, 14:21)

All A1+

Good kits at a good price. Very fast delivery by APC and tracking which was spot on (I've written a good review on their website).
Packing was meticulous, with both kits arriving in pristine condition. In short, it was all very good, from a company that clearly cares about its business and deserves to go from strength-to-strength.
